Joanne Lam

Joanne Lam is a Senior Vice President of Wealth Management with Freedom Capital Management, with a specialized focus on retirement planning and tax-efficient family/business protection strategies. Using a comprehensive planning approach, based on her decades of experience and expertise, Joanne works with executives, individuals, families, and business owners, in utilizing tax-efficient options for wealth transfers and succession planning. Joanne thrives on the challenge of tailoring strategies to meet the needs of each client's specific circumstances.

Previously, Joanne spent 9 years as a Senior Financial Consultant with HSBC Securities working with domestic and international high net worth clients. Prior to that, she was on a senior team at Morgan Stanley. Joanne's career as a financial advisor was launched in 2007, when she joined Citigroup Smith Barney.

With a background in tax, Joanne’s career began in various compliance and research roles in the tax departments of 3 Fortune 500 companies. Her last 6 years as a tax specialist was with Goldman Sachs, where her responsibilities included tracking legislative tax proposals to determine the impact on business units of various tax types. This was the ideal foundation for her future as a financial advisor. Joanne’s tax career has afforded her invaluable experience, but having clients entrust in her to achieve secure financial futures for their families is truly her passion and calling.

Joanne earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Fordham University’s College of Business Administration.

Actively involved in her community, she lends her time and knowledge to various nonprofits, including the ASPCA and Lion’s Club International. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, skiing, golf. Joanne resides in Holmdel, New Jersey, with her husband John and two children.
